10 Bible verses About Obedience

The difference between blessings and curses is obedience. Obedience is one of the most important creeds a Christian should have in their arsenal.

Did you know that between two to three million Israelites died in the wilderness because of disobedience? Yes, according to this publication “How Many Israelites Left Egypt?” millions of Israelites died without seeing the promised land. With the exception of Joshua and Caleb, God swore that no other person who left Egypt would enter into the promised land…their disobedience being the reason.

Numbers 14:26-30 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: “How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: In this wilderness, your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Did you know that Achan and his entire family was stoned to death because of Achan’s disobedience? Yes, God told his people not to take anything from Jericho, but Achan wasn’t obedient to God. He Disobeyed God and God instructed Joshua and the people to stone him with family and possessions. Joshua 7:24-25 Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor. Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them.
